TRANSPARENCY
How the Counter Works
LAST UPDATED August 22, 2026
What counts as claimed
Only plots with payment confirmed by a verified Stripe webhook count as sold. Browser redirects, open Checkout sessions and unpaid reservations never increase the paid counter.
Reservations
Reserved plots are temporarily unavailable to other buyers but remain separate from the public sold total. Expired sessions release their coordinates automatically.
Sponsored artwork
Founding-artist and sponsored placements are visibly labeled, tracked separately and never represented as paid sales.
Refunds and disputes
Disputed placements are frozen while the counter retains the commercial state pending resolution. Fully refunded or lost-dispute placements are removed from the paid count and can later return to inventory.
The price threshold
The first 1,250,000 plots—500,000,000 pixels—use the $1 founding plot allocation. Orders crossing the threshold split atomically: remaining founding plots cost $1 and subsequent plots cost $2.
Auditability
Reservations, payments, publication, freezes, refunds and administrative actions are recorded as immutable audit events.
